The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan once said that “farming is the most noble profession there is.” 

 

The importance of the Ministry of Agriculture is to help bring back to the attention of our people the invaluable importance of producing our own food on a national, community, and individual level. Our open enemy has an agenda to harm and eradicate the masses by selling us food that has been genetically tampered with and poisoned, so it’s our duty to help our people realize this agenda and help find solutions to make wholesome, organic food readily available to them. 

 

Within the Ministry of Agriculture, we also want to help our people realize the importance of owning producing land. Everything that is produced, from food, homes, clothes, cars, etc., are all byproducts of the land. Everything first comes from what is on, and beneath, the land. Our hopes of helping our people understand the importance of land ownership, as well as what can be produced from the land when we put in a collective effort, will inspire the reality that separation from our open enemy is possible. 

 

In the section titled The 9 Ministries on NOI.org, the Nation of Islam states:

“The Ministry of Agriculture is responsible for the development and maintenance of a system of sustainable agriculture to provide wholesome, natural food to the members of society.  In addition to food,  this Ministry is responsible for the production of raw materials required to build good homes and manufacture clothing."
